    Expensive Taser

Another example of PC madness in our country. Perp runs down a police officer during a stop and evades police by wading into the nearby river, then holds them at bay with a stick for a 3 hour standoff.

As our police here are unarmed, and this didnt warrent an armed response. The following unfolded....WHAT A JOKE.

Acting Hamilton City area commander Inspector Karen Henrikson said Waikato police do not have Tasers so the Eagle police helicopter flew one from Auckland.
Cost of an X25 Taser inc holster ($1300 NZ)
Cost of helicopter to fly one out ($1000 NZ)
Cost of a Glock 17 and holster ($1200 NZ

Apprently they deployed the taser, explained to the perp what its effects were and then put the red dot on him and he gave up.

Would have been much easier for them to lasoo the guy, attach him to a truck and pull him out. Or explain to him what a Glock 17 is capable of doing to him.

The officer (who was dragged) is in hospital and is expected to make full recovery.

How much is this mad way of policing costing us the tax payer ???

My first thought as well. They missed a fine opportunity to give the fellow free swimming lessons too.

Or if you lucky enough send fido out there. The baddies usually tend to give up when they see the officer standing there with K9 on his shirt. And if he didnt give up let fido bring him in like a large stick

That would take even more time explaining how a dog has big teef and that if he sinks his teef in your flesh it will hurt and bleed and then have fido growl and show his big teef

Apprently they didnt send K9 out either as they were worried he might try and drown the dog in the water.

Happened a few years ago to a K9 who pursued suspect into bushland.

Usually they get away here, but most are caught after lengthy police invesitigation (after a few more robberies happen). I do believe thats what the police want the public to think, I reckon most are not caught.

    Easy money really.

Security vans here only have one guy, they arent armour plated, and the gaurds arent even allowed pepper spray or baton.

Police instructions for robbery is (stay calm, hand over money, comply with robber)

An indian shop owner here did just that last year, and was shot execution style. Police then cordoned off the area for 20 minutes and the shop owner bleed to death.

The situation we have here in New Zealand is we have good officers wanting to do the right thing following stupid rules and orders from police top brass who have no clue on what "real policing" involves.
