Oh, no. He's still right. They just got the name wrong.

Haven' you heard? It's Global Climate Change!

OMG! We're all doomed, unless we let the govt. tax us to death with cap and trade. Then and only then will the earth be saved.

So the filming of "An Inconvenient Truth" was causing global warming. Did Al Gore talk more during that time period than he has since? Maybe if he completely shuts up we can use those credits to drive our cars.

As usual, the junk science crowd tries to cherry-pick facts to fit their right-wing political agenda. This is the same group that crows every time there's a snowstorm. Could it be they're financed by OPEC, wanting to keep the US addicted to a foreign-supplied, petroleum-based, gas-guzzling economy? Great conspiracy theory potential.

I've read that he will be the first Cap & Trade billionaire once this all goes through.

Junk science, you say? I challenge you to read one of Michael Crichton's best books, "state of fear", and also the book "climate of fear" by Thomas Moore. In those books you will see how many of these climate gurus developed their theories on global warming, and how much of this is driven by the need to keep the grant money flowing, rather than hard scientific fact.

This is not right-wing political agenda; this is trying to warn everybody to be more informed before you jump off the cliff with the rest of the herd. There are a lot of questions that these scientific experts cannot answer, and that alone shoots many of their theories full of holes. One great question was fielded regarding the real effect all of mankinds greenhouse gas emissions has had on temperature. They show a cool graph of how our emissions have increased over time, but then they don't show how 2 volcanic eruptions during the last century emitted many times more of these gases than we ever did. By their standards, we should be living in a microwave oven, but we are not. Nor do they bother to include sunspot activity, which in many cases has a better traceability than their other indexes for tracking global warming.

So if any cherry picking has gone on, my friend, it has definitely been from lib side.

Man-Bear-Pig Man knows all, he even has a noble prize to prove it. After all he made a movie.

If we can take back the congress in 2010 we really need to formally publically investigate Al Gores financial interest in Cap and Trade. He avoids discussing the science in public forums, Pelosi changed his Public Hearing on Climate Change to private phone calls to key senators a few weeks ago. Let the public hear him grilled on the fact that temps are going down around the world, and every winter gets longer and colder in both hemispheres.

Climate changes on the earth have been occuring for a much longer period than your graph shows and with bigger fluctuations. 70,000,000 years ago the worldwide temperature was 130F. Since then we've had ice ages followed by heat surges. Man didn't even exist when all of these changes happened.
One thing I am certain of, is LEFT wing panic mongering techniques that claim we are all doomed unless we follow their agenda and that Al Whore makes millions while leaving the biggest carbon footprint of any person living. Hard to believe someone who doesn't practice what they preach.

Global warming is a specious argument... IF you accept that it is happening, and IF you accept that man is causing it with fossil fuels, then Cap and Trade is ridiculous. China is bringing a new coal-fired energy plant online every week. America cannot solve this so-called disaster alone, and unless China and India get on board, Cap and Trade will have almost ZERO effect on the environment, will destroy what little industry that is left in America, and will only make a handful of bankers and elites wealthy trading these mysterious carbon credits.

And lo and behold, Al Gore's company is one of the entities that will make a boatload of money on carbon credits.

"So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted."

Notice what is in the plot you choose. The Annual Mean (in orange) only goes to 2008. Its 2009 isn't it? Cherry picking you say? Why not include ALL DATA? Notice also how it shows a 5 year "mean" which artificially "smooths out" the data. In addition, the graph you show consists of land weather stations with over 65 % set next to airconditioning units and parking lots. NASA admitted to these mistakes over a year ago, and corrected their findings. The hottest temperatures actually occurred in 1938, not in 2004.

Why don't you look at the most current graphs from NASA?

Almost all scientists today agree that the most accurate data is the satellite data which includes 75% more of the Earth,, the oceans.

The latest data shows absolutely no warming whatsoever over the last 10 years despite increases in CO2.

In addition, the Vostok Ice core data, covering over 600,000 years shows without a doubt that CO2 levels do not cause temperature rises. Instead, the CO2 concentrations lag behind temperatures by as much as 800 years.
Did you know that CO2 levels were some 20 times the levels today in the past with temperatures only one degree C above today's values?

Guess what? You can't display an annual mean until after you have a complete year! Sheesh!

When a science fiction writer (Michael Crichton) is the guru of the cause, I guess anything is possible . . .

Actually, Michael Crichton was a doctor and had the intelligence to back it up. Unlike many of our global warming gurus out there, Mr. Crichton relentlessly researched his subject material before he put pen to paper. I heard an interview with him years ago, when this current cult movement was gathering steam, and his point was not try and discredit anybody personally, but to point out the shortcuts being used to come to the conclusions, and also the method behind the madness, which inevitably has led to where we are now. I don't point to him as a guru, just a really sharp individual who has done a lot of reasearch on the hows and whys.

When a scientist who has spent his or her entire life in the realm of academia feeding off of grants and donations, be they private or government funded, one tends to do whatever it takes to keep the food on the table so to speak. So if someone comes to you and offers you a million dollars with the promise of more money later on to prove their agenda scientifically, then by god you are going to do everything you can to prove it and then some. If you don't, then you have to go find a real job like the rest of us (Holy Cow, Batman!).

And the money trail is where its at - A couple of days ago, someone posted an interesting article about the cap & trade debate going on in congress and how Goldman-Sachs executives and their cronies who supported Obama stand to benefit hugely from this legsilation if it passes and becomes law. Of course, read on its own it smacks of the typical wingnut-conspiracy theory, yet when put together with the global warming cult, the fact that Al Gore, Nancy Pelosi, T.Boone Pickens and all of the other supporters of this legislation are heavily invested in companies and causes that will be made or broken depending on how things shake out, suddenly wingnut conspiracy becomes plausible reality if you put the pieces together.

As the Japanese say, nothing happens by chance and what is happening now was the plan of somebody. Joe Kennedy and his buddies made their money by being in on the fix at precisely the correct times in history to take advantage of things like the stock market, prohibition and the oil & gas industry regardless of who it affected and who got stepped on. That is why they call it GREED.

Believe me, what is going on right now with our planet is, and always has been out of our control and we have been wrong just about 95% of the time in our interpretation of things concerning the natural world. If science was so right all the time, explain how the Bikini Atoll radiation levels are just about normal now after having the most horrendous nuclear detonation in history go off there? The nuclear material was supposed to have an effect there for thousands of years? How about Los Alamos? same there.

Our government has been taken over by these people and any opposing or objective voice is now labeled as a right-wing nutcase. That alone should make one think that we are playing in a rigged card game....
