YouTube - Turn in your Neighbor for $1000
Sometimes on a clear day, I can see into the future with this spotting scope.
This is New Jersey? Why live there anyway? Some nuts will go through the phone book picking names at random. What if they turn in the cops? Do the cops lose their guns?I could only watch a little of this nonsense.
You think anyone will snitch on the Jersey mob for a grand?

Wow...what a plan.
Lets see how it works.
Patti buys a Hi Point for 187 dollars.
Bob calls the cops and they seize it. Bob gets 1000 dollars and splits it with Patti.
Patti buys another Hi-Point and shows it to Bob.
Bob calls the cops and they seize it and Bob gets another 1000 dollars that he splits with Patti.
This time, Bob buys another Hi point. Patti sees it, reports it to the police and they come and get it. Patti gets 1000$ that she splits with Bob.
Of course, if you had a few friends in the loop, one could make quite a living at it.

New Jersey is one of those states that I wish we could cut loose and watch float away over to Europe since they seem to think so much like them.![]()

Well, guys, it happened in Florida last month.
The West Palm Beach PD offers a $500 reward if you turn in somebody who has a gun and it is found stolen or otherwise illegal SN altered, etc.
Link here to the article in the Palm Beach Post !!!
It' funny because they tell you to call anonymously, so how do you get the bounty ???
It is a bad slope we are sliding down ...

The second rule: "Bring enough gun"

I tend to agree.
My only problem is that the reward is given even if there's no conviction. That's the only real difference that I see between this and any other crime tips type program that offers a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those engaged in illegal activity.
If the target in this case was "meth labs" instead of "illegal guns", would anyone here have a problem with it?
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in a grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat."

I think the sentiment is: "We don't need more firearms laws, if you feel you just have to do something, try enforcing the laws already on the books." We want them to prosecute criminals (you know, thieves, murderers, rapists...) not find what charges they can make stick to otherwise law abiding people.
I have a serious problem with government officials (regardless of capacity - from rookie cops to POTUS) encouraging people to look askance at their neighbors. If I see someone with a gun, I'm going to assume it is legal unless I have reason to believe otherwise. If I "make" someone while out in public, I always assume that they have either managed to finagle a CCW or are covered by LEOSA if they are simply going about their business.
If your city offered a reward, would you walk around the neighborhood looking for code violations (weeds are too tall, converted garage, a freestanding garage or apartment that was built without a permit)?
