man, I have a LN46A650 (which is awesome,) I feel your pain... I have a Wii too, but religious wrist strap use, and no children; I won't be able to afford them for a long time... this is just another good reminder of that

Is there any chance it's fixable or do you need a whole new tv? Does your homeowner's or renter's insurance cover this type of thing? Or warranty? Maybe you could sell it as modern art.

If you do need to buy a new tv, maybe it's a good time to upgrade... If I had the chance to get someone's parents to pay for my 46" Samsung, I'd kick in whatever extra money was needed to get at least a 52" or bigger. Not that there's anything wrong with a 46" but I sure wouldn't mind another few square feet of ball game or blu-ray.

The company sells the product in five sizes, based on the size of the TV you need to protect:

    30"-32" $129
    36"-37" $139
    40"-42" $149
    46"-47" $159
    50"-52" $169

Presumably, if you’ve got a TV larger than that, you’ve got enough sense not to plug a Wii into it — or enough cash to have your own acrylic sheets custom-fit to the dimensions of your palatial home theater.

Invest into a projector... paint the wall with that special paint, and blamo... if it happens again, plaster is fairly cheap.

Homeowners might cover it,especially if the front door is kicked in and the ahem thiefs dropped it and damaged it during the ahem attempted theft wink wink,But the cost of getting caught filing a false police report etc. will cost more than a new TV

    Talking

How odd. The thread I read just before this was the one on AD's.

Maybe a few people need 4" thick shields?

    Update!

Well, the boys mother came by with a check for $500 in hand. I feel lucky they paid us anything at all!!

She apologized once again and said that this was all that they could afford to give us. We accepted. I told here we were sorry also, and that this never should have happened and left it at that. No hard feelings.

This has been very unfortunate for me, as now I'm going to have to spend the money that I was saving up for a Springfield EMP on a new television. It's pretty depressing.

    On the bright side, I'm upgrading from a ln46a650 to a ln52a750!
