    How many miles?

After leaving Home Depot today, I guess I went about half a mile with the parking brake on (1999 Ford Taurus). All told, I probably have 10 miles accumulated while driving with the brake on! Oh well, live and learn.

I was at the dump the other day and after dumping, I thought my truck was stuck in soft dirt. A guy came over and asked if my emergency brake was on. So your in good company.

Check to make sure your pads/shoes are not glazed. This could increase your stopping distance.

The worst I've done was have the E brake on while packing out of the driveway. My driveway is pretty short, so no big deal.

I can't go far with the e-brake on. The LCD readout below my gauges starts flashing "emergency brake active!" and playing a crazy tune to get my attention the second I pass 2mph.
