Who would save the day?
So I started watching all the seasons of 24. Up to Season Four. No spoilers, please.
In Season 4, the Secretary of Defense is kidnapped and Jack is there to save the day.
He uncovers where the Secretary is being held and, long story short, the Marines are sent in to perform the rescue.
The question I have is, in real life (and please don't disillusion me by telling me that TV is not real life
) who would actually rescue the Secretary? Marines, Army, Special Forces (if so, which branch)?

It would depend on who, what and where.

I would suspect Delta, hostage rescue is one of their missions.

I'll go ahead and say Marines, but I'm biased, and it would really depend on the situation, where it was, and a bunch of other variables.

It depends on the situation and location, as well as the strength of the enemy. Might need more than one service, Air Force to get there, Marines to keep the BGs busy and specialized teams to do the work.
A Navy carrier close by to take care of the casualties.
But why would we want that guy back so bad ???

The second rule: "Bring enough gun"

As has been stated: Depends on who has him and where they have him.

If he's being held captive inside the US legal no branch of the military would be deployed for the rescue, it would be handled by the FBI. If he were being held outside the US it would probably depend on who had the closest team available.

IIRC, he is pro 2A. Even asked to see the CHL of all the terrorists who kidnapped him. No one had any, so Jack killed them all.

Nobody would kidnap her in the first place. Not valuable enough. Besides, Obama wouldn't miss her in the least...another one under the bus.
I think the kidnappers would hand her back in a few days, which would cut Bill's week-long celebration binge a little short. That might lead to serious repercussions for the kidnappers.

I'd like to see the scenario where any person or group could get close to him without a firefight...I think the battle would take place immediately at the attempt.
Long before any large group could pull this off, the entire government would be hiding in Mount Weather.
