    You guys mentioned chess in the "Hobbies" thread... I haven't played in at least 15 years, but I'd love to give this a try...

    I love chess...learned when I was 5. Took me over 10 years to finally beat my Dad.

    That looks interesting, I'd like to give that a try.

    Interesting...I know that they make a 3-D version, also...

    Haha, that looks pretty crazy.

    Lately my favorite 'chess' game has been bughouse. It's just as fun with 2 players as 4

    I am a traditionalist when it comes to chess. I play exclusively in tournaments and training games. I haven't played recently due to the advent of strong computer programs. One of the last tournaments I played, my significantly weaker opponent left the board for a walk AFTER I made my moves and returned to navigate a difficult position with success.

    I had no evidence of cheating but chess is one of those games where it is almost impossible to play well above your level and circumstantial evidence is sometimes very damning.

    For anyone aspiring to succeed in chess, five minute games are very good practice. It is an excellent way to encounter many positions from specific openings and to try strategies from those openings in a practice environment in which the results are not too significant.
