    Lock up those cruisers

    Cops: Woman steals APD patrol car | KXAN.com

    An Austin woman is accused of stealing an Austin police car and taking it on a joyride, flashing its lights, through Austin.

    Nicole Thomas, 32, is in jail on charges of theft after callers alerted police of a cruiser with a driver who looked much too young to be behind the wheel of a patrol car.

    The theft happened Sunday at 10 a.m., when dispatch started getting 911 calls that a "teen-aged looking" person was driving a police car down South Congress Avenue. Other officers started looking for the car, later determined to belong to a supervisor.

    She was probably thrilled to hear that she looked like a teenager and was much to young to be behind the wheel of a police car.


    Man, I wish I was 32 (or younger) again.
