Congratulations on your retirement and thank you for your service.

I have 8-15 left to go myself... I can hardly wait. As much as I love the Army, I just hate working.

I retired in 1989. Took a while to ease into it. About two days. In the last twenty years we have attended every game, performance, contest, ceremony, meeting, and event that our kids participated in. We have shared the triumphs and the defeats. Attended the weddings and funerals. The Thanksgivings and the Christmases. I am looking forward to the next twenty. I hope your retirement is everything you want it to be. Lord knows you deserve it.

Thank you for your service brother! Even after the ten years I have been out of the service I still want to go and be with my brothers in service. Silly-villians just don't seem to get it. It's a brotherhood not a job. I miss it to this day. My son will be deploying from Bragg in a couple weeks and my spirit will be with him always. His service has brought us closer as adults and veterans. I hope you find your niche in the civilian world but it is hard. Hoooah!

Chris, screw the composure. You've earned the right to be sentimental. I did 24 years exactly. I'm not ashamed to admit there were many misty eyes around, mine included. I was saying goodbye to friends of many years as well as a way of life. Best wishes as you start on your new path. Remember, they can take the man out of the uniform, but they can never take the military out of the man.

Congratulations Chris. I retired after 24 years last year and it's difficult when you realize you're taking off the uniform for the last time. Here's to a long, happy and well earned retirement. Thanks for your service.

Thank you for your years of service to our country.

Hope you enjoy retirement as much as, or more than, I have.

If, you are married thank you wife for putting up with all the....

OTOH, mine put up a sign, "Retirement: half the money, twice the husband." I got the message, pitched in some and stayed out of her way more. Easing into it took some sensitivity/understanding for both of us. But it was worth it.

Congratulations, Chris. But for a minor detail called Reduction In Force (RIF) in 1973-74 I would have stayed in myself. They decided they didn't need any 1LTs since there was no war to send us to. Whenever I see a uniform I regret that I did not get to stay.

Have a great retirement. Enjoy yourself.
