I've broken one hand (twice), both arms and a leg at different times. After breaking 3 ribs once, I'd much rather break a limb...or two! I feel for ya.

Since I have recently been domesticated(got married friday) I have learned many new things: the dryer is NOT the clean hamper, empty milk jugs do NOT go back in the fridge, leftover pizza is NOT a good breakfast for a 2 year old,but the number 1 capital crime of all time is leaving the toilet seat up!
This is where I can learn from yalls mistakes.
Hope you get better soon ...cause I need your dont do list!

    Wow, GB,

You hung yourself out to dry twice!

First, when you did the laundry and fell.
Second, when you admitted to a forum of women.
Of course, us guys would never think of giving you a hard time for doing...

Sorry to hear about your mishap, G.B.

I'm not laughing about the irony....Really, I'm not.

But for God's sake, PLEASE stay away from any other dangerous chores.

I took a very nasty spill off an elevated platform yesterday afternoon. It knocked the wind out of me and luckily one of my neighbours heard me moaning and dialed 911. Next thing I know, my normally VERY quiet dead end street has sirens, fire trucks, and an ambulance bearing down on it

An ambulance ride later I'm lying in Emerg being poked, prodded and X-rayed. I get a couple of shots of morphine for the pain. My first experience with morphine and I must say I was disappointed by the result, or lack thereof.

Diagnosis? Cracked rib, my first time with a bone injury. I must say the pain is quite excruciating and the codeine stuffed pills really don't do much except make me a little dizzy(er).

The irony? Don't worry, I'm getting to it. Mrs. GB is out of town on yet another dog rescue mission. Me being the good supportive hubby that I am decided to help out around the house.

The reason I was standing on the platform? I was (gulp) hanging laundry on the clothesline!. OK girls, laugh it up. The sexist pig was doing laundry. I was pulling the line and it snapped.

So here I am popping Emtecs like they're M&M's and trying to decide if changing my seating position will be worth the accompanying pain.

    Any sympathy will be appreciated.
GB hope you to feeling better soon.

On my recent trip to hospital they gave me morphine for the first day. It wasn't touching the headache. That night they began to give Dilaudid. Whew we. Thats bad stuff. It supposed to be 8-10 x of Morphine and 3-5 x of Heroin. After three plus days I was seeing things. Be glad that a shot or two is all you need. After being on Dilaudid (hyrdomorphone) I can understand Dali's art a little better.

    Get well!

I am a guy and I used to hang out my wash at mom's house and she would come behind me and put matching socks together, invert things, and generally re-do my job. I never did it again. She would ask me to carry it outside and I told her I probably wouldn't do it the right way so carry it yourself. At least I will be among friends and family in hell.

Well... The bad news is ya broke your ribs, the bad news is Mrs. GB is going to buy the best (and most expensive) electronic dryer YOUR $$ can buy, the other bad news is "you'll never live it down".

The good news is they have better pain drugs. (get some and don't breath for 3 three weeks) Heal up Soon! Oh sorry....hurts to laugh doesn't it?

    Hi GB,
I'm sorry you fell and I'm really sorry you broke a rib. I've never broken a rib, but I have pulled a muscle that made it feel like I was being stabbed with something sharp if I inhaled too deeply and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I do have one question though.

Why did you have to stand on a platform to hang clothes. I grew up without a clothes dryer and never had to stand on anything to hang clothes on the lines outside even as a child. Does Mrs. GB have to do the same? Maybe that line should be lowered a bit Just a suggestion.

Sorry to hear about the fall and subsequent broken ribs GB. Get well soon and you are in good company among the walking wounded in here, me included. Ribs truely hurt the worst out of any bone I've ever broken and I've broken a few. The last time I broke any ribs was in 2005 when I came off of my motorcycle at 45mph. Broke 3 in my upper right chest with the mirror and had a nifty mirror shaped bruise where it hit. Have fun with the painkillers and stay SAFE!!

Sorry to hear about your fall. I hope you aren't laid up to long.
I've had broken ribs 3 times so I "feel your pain" (biting lower lip).
