It's really a shame to see someone as good as Farve hang on once it's time to go. He's not able to take the beating of a full season anymore. He proved that last year with the Jets. At least Johnny Unitas was smart enough to realize his career was over after one season with the Chargers.

I have spent too many years rooting against Farve to ever root for him no matter what team he is with. This guy is a bad Soap Opera IMHO and I am sick of him. Just a few weeks ago he proclaimed himself not up to par, now he can play. Couldn't be he was looking for more money could it? Although I am a Vikings fan I hope he brings us to the very edge of victory then does what he does best. Throws a game and season loosing interception. Maybe then the bone-heads in this state will figure out they made a mistake. The only thing we could have done worse was hire Vick and only from the standpoint that he is a criminal not from the standpoint that he is younger and probably in better shape.

Farve is old enough to be a Viking, isn't he?

He should give it up before some lineman retires him.

Another player who hasn't realized that he is well past is prime.

Instead of going out with greatness, he's clinging to the past.

living for 40 years 2 hours south of GB I am a huge Packer fan and a Brett Favre fan. I am starting to wonder if things ended real sour for him in GB and this is his way of getting back. Time to hang it up Brett.

Favre is writing the book on how not to retire gracefully and piss people off at the same time. Stand-up guy and a great player but come on; retire, un-retire, retire, un-retire, retire, un-retire.... I've lost count.

I didn't vote, because my option wasn't presented...Retire because I am sick of the "Farve Retirement Tributes" on ESPN every other day he announces his retirement. Frankly I am just sick of the back-and-forth garbage. Play or don't play...stop feeding off the media sensation. I don't think he's too old.

I voted "Retire, You're too Old." His skills and judgment will fade in the second half of the season. The Vikes are welcome to him.

Every weekend there are going to 11 guys wanting to knock the snot out of him and send him to retirement. I don't think he's too old, but he has one big target on his back.

I hope he does well, but I'm not buying a purple #4 jersey.

If I could come out of retirement for half a year and make the kind of money he is making, I would do it, too. You have to remember the majority of NFL, NBA, MLB, etc athletes are bankrupt within 5 years of retiring. He probably started looking at his checking account and realized an extra 10 mil wouldn't be such a bad thing.

I don't blame him. I do blame the NFL and the Vikings for letting him pull this kind of crap.

But, like I said, if they would pay me that much money to go 1 for 4 with 4 yards, I would do it, too.
There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil.

    Roger Clemons Plays Football!

Always has to be one... he had his opportunity to gracefully bow out, to me he has ruined his career with Green Bay by playng this game. He should keep throwing footballs to Wrangler commercials and family get togethers.

Football is entertainment..I find Him highly entertaining. If the Vi-queens think he is worth 12 million then let him play... Tickets for the GB game(nov 1) for primo seats hit 1500. I'll be watching from home, cheering for the Pack, hoping Farve doesn't get hurt.. We will never forget you Brent!
