    Vicks return to football +/-

This topic will likely get a wide variety of opinions and that's what I'm looking for.

Do you think Michael Vick should be allowed to return to professional football? I would also like to here your reasons why he should or shouldn't be allowed.

I remember when this story first broke on the news.

I think he should be banned from every playing again. What
he did was very cruel to those animals.

They banned Mike Tyson from ever boxing again because he
took a bite out of Holyfields ear didn't they? What makes
    Vick better than anyone else?

    Getting off soapbox now...lol

NO!! I think that if a felony has been commited by any of them they should not be able to play. They have become role models for our kids and they should start acting like one!

Some of you may think I'm way out of line on this, but when it comes to kids I have to draw the line as to what kind of people they look up to!

Personally, I think the guy should be gone for good, and I'm a big eagles fan. The reality is he will get mixed responses, more to the negative, until the eagles win with him. Winning games in philly excuses all misdeeds.

He did his time, now leave him alone. There are a lot of elitist hypocrites out there complaining about him. There are bigger issues within society.

OK so how do I edit the third option to say tied instead of thied.

I agree with Erik, 2nd and jbs so far but I'm sure there will be some who would favor the decision and I would like to here why. Lets all be civil to each other though I know this is an emotional issue. Thanks

The NFL won't ever see $.01 in any form of support from me again.

There may be bigger issues but does that mean all lesser issues are forgotten? To have compassion for animals and a disdain for those who abuse them is not a form of elitism nor does it make one a hypocrite.

I can go either way on this one.
He did his time, now let him earn a living like he knows how to.
But... if the league is all about image now, like the commissioner keeps saying, then he would be gone. And I do not believe in all these suspensions they keep handing out when someone has already made it through the legal system. It's like law on top of law. And that just doesn't seem right to me.
And a kid's role model should be his parents, not some celebrity. This would be the perfect opportunity to teach them that.

Oh, oh ... seems my Brett Favre post started something

No matter how you cut it, Vick is a convicted felon and is now placed into the position of "role model" for kids. He is supposed to be a team leader but his past is "ring leader". I voted NO!

The difference is what Mike Tyson did was in the ring, but what Vick did was not on the field. Banning players because what they did while taking part in the sport or related activities (gambling on the game, steroids, etc) is different than banning them due to crimes and moral failings outside of the game.

I’m not saying that the league should not be able to punish him or ban him for a period of time, but the two cases are different.
