Police are investigating a bizarre home invasion case overnight in Bristol, Virginia. Investigators say two people broke into a home in hopes of attacking a man they knew, and police said their weapon was a pit bull.
It happened just after midnight Sunday at a home at 963 Old Abingdon Highway. The homeowner was able to lock himself in a room until police arrived.
The two men and their pit bull got away, and Virginia State Police even used their helicopter to help in the search.
Police say they found Edward Vance, Jr., age 44, Bristol, Virginia. A second suspect, Christopher Heflin, age 29, Bristol, Virginia, was able to escape but turned himself in just before 5 a.m. Monday.
They’re both charged with breaking and entering. Vance was charged with public intoxication.
The pit bull has not been found.
