I love the State Fair of Texas!!!

Watch the video on Fox News about a new foood entry for the State Fair of Texas:

    Deep Fried Butter

Other things that have been fried at the State Fair of Texas:

    • Fried Ice Cream
    • Fried PB, Jelly & Banana Sandwich
    • Fried Coke (as in the drink)
    • Fried Latte
    • Fried Cookie Dough
    • Fried Bacon (YUM!!!!)
    • Fried Banana Split
    • Fried Grilled Cheese Sandwich
    • Fried S'mores
    • Fried Sno Balls (the cupcake dessert)
    • Fried Honeybun

And the list just keeps going. If it can be eaten or drunk, Texans can fry it!

Can't be eaten or drunk, but Texas has a long story of frying death row inmates too!
You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

Nah, we go the "humane" way and stick 'em. I wish we had the chair, I'd pay more for electricity if it would deter even one crime.

Basically as I understand it, they take balls of fried sweet dough, soak them in coke syrup, and top it off with whipped cream.

    Fried Coke

Fried Coke is frozen Coca-Cola-flavored batter which is deep-fried and then topped with Coca-Cola syrup, whipped cream, cinnamon sugar, and a cherry. It was introduced by inventor Abel Gonzales, Jr., at the 2006 State Fair of Texas, where it won the title of "Most Creative" in the second annual judged competition among food vendors.[1][2] It proved very popular in Texas, selling 10,000 cups in the first two weeks. In 2009, Fried Coke was featured on the Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. Fried Coke is estimated to have 830 calories (3,500 kJ) per cup.[3]

Some accounts credit Kevin McGinnis with the invention of the Fried Coke at Mert's Heart 'n Soul in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina
