    Oberammergau Passion Play

    Has anyone been to this in the past?

    Passionplay Oberammergau 2010: passionplay 2010

    Seems the village of Oberammergau Germany has been putting on stage production of the Passion of Christ every 10 years since 1634. Seems the village swore an oath to do this in return for sparing the remaining residents from the plague. Evidently there were no more deaths after this oath was made, and the village has been upholding their end of the bargain ever since.

    It runs from May 15 to Oct 3 next year, and the wife and I are going next July. Evidently approximately 500,000 people worldwide attend this production.

    Just wondering if anyone has ever been and might have some hints, things to see, etc.

    Now, that is very cool. Looks like a great reason to visit, if traveling. Beautiful surroundings, in the mountains north of Innsbruck. Nice, that they're keeping their end of the bargain.
