The media these days is sick, obscene and only it seems intent on se;ling copy, air time - whatever gets in an audience.

The truth??? What do they know about truth! We might wonder too where did the ''free press'' go - it has long gone because most upper level media is totally controlled by parties with an agenda.

Manipulation, dis-information and mis-information are the modern keywords.

The "objective" press is a fallacy and has been probably for years.....look at the amount of negative press coverage exists regarding firearms, firearms ownership and self defense.....and the lack of coverage of those topics from a positive light.

I would very happily settle for ''balanced'' reporting but that's a thing of the past - it's all bias, hype and spin.

Chris, I'm not sure that it ever existed (how's that for cynical)...witness this reported exchange of telegrams between Fredrick Remington and William Randolf Hearst leading up to the Spanish-American War:
    W. R. Hearst, New York Journal, N.Y.: "Everything is quiet. There is no trouble here. There will be no war. I wish to return. "Remington."

"Remington, Havana: "Please remain. You furnish the pictures, and I'll furnish the war. "W. R. Hearst."

Rick - I think my statement was just the cynic with half-hearted historic optimism creeping in!

Let's just say in the past ''relatively speaking'' - things were better. Put another way - they are now most assuredly worse!

+1 to that. It's not like it was every great, but there used to be some semblance of balance. Now they don't even strive to appear balanced.
