Saw that once Rick and good to see it again. That is some stellar shooting for sure.

Doubt the gun is in too good a shape after a (probably) 30 cal impact!!

Nice shooting. Never heard of a department doing that before, but if you've got a good enough backstop, why not, I suppose.

The Polish hostage only held the handgun still for a second and a half, before the shot was fired...That’s good shooting alright .
If the sharpshooter hit the gun while the guy was jerking it around, I would be very impressed.

Nice shooting. only problem is , the public will expect the PD to be able to repeat this tactic . It may cause more problems in the long run , legally when such a shot just isn't possible and someone needs to be stopped.

I think here tho Rocky if treating it as a potential suicide - they rated the threat to them less than many occasions.

If the gun had been turned to them just once then all bets probably would have been off.

I'd imagine it very well might have injured his hand and man would that hurt. Good thing the guy wasn't holding it in his lap.

I recall having seen that as a part of some documentary on snipers that was shown on Discovery/History Channel (can't remember which one). After the trial of the guy, the police took the revolver that was shot and had it mounted on a plaque for the office. The damage was substantial, almost looked like the revolver had been cut in half.

Looks like the Sniper used a Remmy PSS. More than likely in 7.62mm. I bought one a few years ago. Great accuracy out of the box!!

The video doesn't show the best part. Right after that, he gets tackled by a few officers and goes down hard. The stupid look on his face and the realization that he is going to get pummeled makes me smile.
