I have an account of BoA and I am in the process of shopping for another bank for several reasons: 1) they allow customers with no social security number to open bank accounts, hello, cater to the illegal alien law breakers, 2) they received government money, 3) the flag.
Screw you BoA! I will take my business elsewhere. That is the American ethos!

That is what you call riding the fence,. Do not offend those that live in our country and do not like the flag, and just say "I'm sorry" to those that get upset about it.. Political BS is that that is.. GRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Leaving BoA
I've been in the process of leaving for sometime (CDs plus direct deposit and auto pay changeover take time) -- this "local" flap notwithstanding.
However, it is related -- i.e., local managers and other employees getting it wrong.
When I opened the accounts they had a manager that was customer friendly and knowledgeable.
On three separate occasions, after he left, they inconvenienced me / cost me money in different situations, none of which make any sense and in which, when I contacted higher management, the higher-up "corrected" the branch staff.
Even as I am closing out things, the assistant branch manager was "reversed" by the branch manager -- just last week.
I went in to close out the safety deposit box, as the year's rental is up this week. I had both key. The "assistant" said both my wife and I had to be there to close the contract as both our signatures were on the contract. I asked to see it. She showed me the approved signature card. I asked if either of us could access the box w/o the other present (and potentially clean it out) why couldn't either of us close the account. I pointed out that I had closed most of out savings and cashed CDs w/o my wife present. She claimed it was Homeland Security requirements (as she has when wrong before).
I went for a cup of coffee and came back when the manager got back, from lunch. She handled it w/o a question, or problem.

BTW -- We all should avoid BB&T, First Union Bank, Langley Federal Credit Union, & Wachovia -- as they are seriosully Anti-RKBAs

I for one can tell you that the credit union I work for loves America and would never do this
I was very surprised and impressed that when I first came on board here they were about to send off one of our own who got called up, they threw him a going away party and had all of us who are Vets to stand and be recognized.
I also need to add that people who are easily offended, offend me and should stay away from me!

My exact sentiments.

UPDATE: WCBD in Charleston reports that Bank of America said the incident was a “
miscommunication in corporate policy.”
Exactly what policy was misunderstood in a way that resulted in removal of the flags?

I closed my account last year because of the no requirement for SS numbers and obvious catering to the illegals. There were several LARGE banners hanging on the lobby walls in spanish - I guess advertising for free money. Also their employees were incompetant.

I have three accounts and BOA is one of um. I think I'll keep the account, but become a regular pain the *** to deal with, just for the fun of it.

“...miscommunication in corporate policy.”
Sounds more like "missed communism in corporate policy."
I am disgusted. Especially since I/We own that bank.
Disclaimer: I never consented to the purchase.

Too bad it seems like a nice gesture, the flags. People are weird.

Don't forget this is the same bank company that would not cash a check from an armless guy who couldn't give them a thumbprint, because it was company policy.
Nice company.
