What should I serve?

This is a discussion on What should I serve? within the Off Topic & Humor Discussion forums, part of the The Back Porch category; I think I'd opt for Charcoaled hamburgers, Brats, potato salad and baked beans. "KISS"....

    Dont over do the sauces!
The hollindiase and risotto will be too rich with the fatty marbling of a ribeye cut.
Cognac sauce on a filet is "gilding the lily" the filet can and should stand on its own.
For the asparagus in option 1 try flash frying in garlic butter with a splash of lemon or ricewine vinager at the end.
I would stay away from the 3 veggie medley in option 2,carrots can be bossy and overpower gentler veggies like aspargus.Stir fry the carrots in butter and add brown sugar at the end.
Make a cream of asparagus soup for starters.
then brown the onions in EVOOil with a few red pepper flakes.
Risotto....eh, as long as its not from a box.
It is pardonable to be defeated but never surprised.

Both sounds great but if you had option 1 recently, I would fix option 2 and what time should I be over lol

They make it in a box?

I might as well serve boxed wine while I'm at it.

No - I make mine from arborio rice with all the proper time and care that it should take.

Good thoughts on some of the other points, thanks.

    Here's (a few of) mine.

    Red wine I assume.

Being Canadian I can also provide Cuban stogies for after dinner.
