I hope that no DC members work for UPS, because I am about to offend you. I recently ordered some mountain bike parts for my Giant, Iguana from Florida. They were shipped to me on 9/16/09 and scheduled to be delivered on 9/23/09.
They got to within 20 miles of me on 9/22/09, at which time I guess UPS thought they were just being too efficient, and they promptly returned them to Florida, overnight no less, to begin the journey all over again. They are now scheduled to arrive on 9/30/09. BTW the UPS term for late as Hell is "rescheduled delivery".
If anyone thinks I'm making this up, the tracking number is ***************:aargh4:

They hire part timers to load trucks,mainly for the muscle not their IQ level

I would print a copy of that and first thing in the morning, I would be on the horn telling them I want my shipping charges refunded! And, I wouldn't take no for an answer, rather going one level up, etc until I got satisfaction. I would also send this in a letter to the editor to the big papers if they refuse to accept responsibility.

I'm not trying to hide my location, it's just that Texas has always claimed all of NM east of the Rio Grande as their own and even occupied parts of the territory during the Civil War.
Also Los Lunas comprises not only the city proper, but extends into areas outside the city limits as far as 10 miles that are served by rural carriers from the Los Lunas Post Office.

I work at a job where we make about 100 UPS shipments daily. I think they are very good most of the time however when they screw up they do that really well too! Try throwing them a curve ball like re-route, it is not pretty.

Last week we shipped 3 pallets Conway freight to a 1 day shipping point. Tuesday they delivered 1 pallet, Wednesday another one, apparently someone at Conway used a disappearing laser on the other. Mind you this is an 800#+ pallet of freight (not so easy to misplace).

Petty tyrants are generally the type of people who end up in control of many local and regional offices in large corporations.

Sure it's a delay, but nowhere near the experience I had with the USPS. Sent an envelope from downtown Mt. Clemens, MI to downtown Detroit, MI overnight, roughly a total distance of 26 miles at most. It should have arrived the next morning, not 7 months later bearing a postmark from Kalamazoo, MI.
The USPS told me they never loose mail, sometimes things "may get misdirected, but mail never ever gets lost"
I don't know about you but if I'm going from Mt. Clemens to Detroit and somehow end up in Kalamazoo, I'd consider myself lost.:rolleyes:

I have to agree with Rugergirl.
USPS was nice enough to place what they could find of letter to us in a plastic baggy and mail that to us when there sorting machine decided to eat it.

I worked receiving/loading dock for couple companies. We had some interesting times with carriers. One such instance was with UPS. We received a package that looked like it was taped by a 2 year old wanting to go through a roll. Well when we start looking through this poorly packaged box we discovered a revolver frame. Apparently this frame was missing for over a year. We called the company that it belonged to about sending it back they had already replaced the frame since it was lost for a year.
