Okay - not quite yet - but give me a few years.
Our first baby boy (second child) was born early this week. Coming from a large family of hunters and gun 'enthusiasts', I'm sure he'll turn out just fine.
I still have high hopes for my daughter - but she is more interested in baby dolls right now and doesn't like the loud bangs.
I am thinking for their first (real) gun - a CZ 452 scout in .22lr - iron sights of course. Thoughts?

Hey, congrats Joe!
A .22 is the perfect starter gun, don't know much about the CZ but CZ is a good company that makes good guns so I would say you can't go wrong with it.

I know horses can be "gun-trained" so they won't bolt when you are hunting while riding, so I'm thinking that children can be trained in a similar manner.
I hear that they learn quick when quite small, so you'd better get started, soon.

Congo-Ratz Joe! I have a son who's 3 1/2 right now. Can't wait till he's old enough to shoot the Ruger 22/45 I have for him!
My 2nd one is coming on Monday! The wife and I go in for the inducement Monday morning at 7:00. Should be interesting!

Congrats on the new child. Another person entering the world that won't be brought up to be afraid of guns and think they are the foundation of evil in the world.
That sounds like a good starting gun. I learned on a Bearcat .22, and a Chipmunk.

Congrats! I'm sure you've noticed by now that having two doesn't double the workload...it triples it somehow.
