    My rant

So, Domino's Pizza is making sandwiches and Pizza Hut is making chicken wings. Did it ever occur to either of these chains to try and make an edible pizza fit for human consumption? Not to be left out of my rant is McDonalds pushing iced mocha lattes! Hey Ronald, make something that resembles a hamburger with real beef. What's next, Jiffy-Lube doing prostate exams???????

Nothing wrong with a bit of lubrication preceding a prostate exam.

Well, if I can get a large pepperoni pizza from Domino's for $6 (carry out), I don't expect it to taste like a $20 dollar pizza. I did eat a burger from McDonalds recently, and it was nothing like a homemade meal -- but it did only cost about $2 and I simply had to drive through... no cooking, no washing dishes, etc. When you work a long day and need to maximize your amount of free time for relaxation purposes, fast food can be just the ticket.

Regardless of whether something is fast food or not, once you eat it... it all goes to the same place.

p.s. around here, Jippy Lube is where car thieves work to scout suitable vehicles and collect your address.

Oh thats funny :ha ha: You will have LOTS of "free time for relaxation purposes" when your arteries clog up with all the fat and cholesterol.

JK but something to think about.

I live in a little town that doesn't allow chain restaurants. It's a historical thing.
We have 3 pizza shops that are all pretty much terrible (good wings though). I'd kill for a Pizza Hut pizza! I'd even eat Dominos right now.

Let's say you have to work some random overtime. In addition, you live far away from work and/or traffic is really bad. You could easily end up with only 2 or 3 hours to eat dinner and unwind before hitting the hay. Swinging by the grocery store and cooking the simplest of meals would easily take at least an hour (that would be record time). So that leaves you with 1 to 2 hours of free time. Ask me how I know.

How healthy do you think it is to work a 12 hour day and not allow yourself some proper relaxation? My point is that fast food has a legitimate purpose from time to time. Health can be more than just fat and cholesterol.

Leftovers in the microwave. Funny, I've stayed away from "fast food" b/c the typical time out of the way and in line is as much or more than heating something up or cooking something (I admit I ain't a chef) - especially when it's cold by the time you get home or the end of the meal. You can also unwind while the cooking time passes. Check out 15 minute meals.
