"In the event of a major catastrophe . . ."

The roads will be blocked by people Bugging out that can not go anywhere. Once traffic stops on the Freeways and smaller roads plug up it will be down to walking or bicycles etc. The road ways could turn into dog eat dog and loot homes near roads while folks living near roadway try to defend their homes and life's from fearful, hungry, and dying folks. If rule of law is not reestablished and real help and hope give to the people we could face a total melt down.

Stay home in my fortified castle. Most likely major problem would be Floods. Then Earthquakes and Volcanoes. Nuclear attacks in Puget Sound are also a possibilty. The only one I could really run from would be Floods. If it is threatning to flood I am always on river watch so I have time to load up and leave if my home is threatened.

Accuracy ALWAYS WINS! So carry what you can hit with.

If you find yourself in a fair fight your tactics stink.

I'm going to hunker down and live off the food and water I have stashed away until the madness peaks. There's a very large body of water 1/2 mile out the back door for fishing and plenty of woods for hunting small critters... yummy!

Staying home with my garden and well.
I have water on three sides and about 20 miles of hunting clubs behind me .
The only easy acess is a two lane bridge that is visible from 10 of the 15 homes here.
My neighbors and myself are all of the Alabama good ole boy variety,
( salt of the earth no matter what some people think . )and will stay put as long as we have beer and bullets .

    Probably just stay home.

If things get so bad, deer camp is always a possibility.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.
