That is way cool. There is a button on the briefcase to allow you to fire the gun through a hole in the case! How cool is that? Even cooler is it actually shoots those wooden bullets. Man, that would have been a cool toy.
Who remembers these? The Mattel Fanner 50 with "Greenie" stickem caps.

I noticed a couple of "spy" kits in the toy section at Costco the other day. Noted the lack of a pistol. No self-respecting junior spy of the cold war error would be caught without a PPK, or a Luger, or P-38.
I had both the Johnny Seven OMA and the Secret Sam. It was fun growing up during the'60s when boys could still play with toy guns without being considered some kind of sociopath or enemies of the state.
Wow does this thread make me feel my age, yes I remember these. Back then all of us kids had toy guns and no one was concerned in the least. Back then if a boy didn't play cops and robbers or war they were an odd duck....

*sigh* I do miss the days when the cap guns I owned were made of metal, didn't have to be painted in some flourescent paint or have a stupid orange plug, and I could walk down the road to my best friends house with them to play war out in his front yard. I think if a kid tried that today they'd call swat out on him.
The coolest toy gun we had at my house was the Ghost Gun. It was a WWII style submachine gun with a built in projector that put pictures of ghosts on the wall. When you pulled the trigger it poked holes in the ghost. It was a blast.
We ran out of the ghost film fairly quickly and it became just another toy gun. Pity.
