    I was a bigot today

Dang, this getting old thing sucks.

I need to see an eye doctor. Ophthalmologists for those in Rio Linda. I got on my insurance plans website, found a group that was near by and called to make an appointment.

After some pleasantries with the receptionist, she asked, "which doctor would you like to see?"

I said, "I really don't care...as long as they were born and raised in the United States."

    "Huh"

I explained that I want a doctor who shares my language and cultural upbringing.

"Well, OK.....how about Dr. Lolita Ramamatha Capretti von Schmeckle Kim Fu?

    "Where was she born?"

"Chicago. Went to the University of Illinois Medical School"

    "Fine"

I bet my chart was flagged.

I dont see anything wrong with that. But I'd rather not see a doctor from Chicago.

I wouldn't want to piss off anyone who puts things on or close to my eyes.

Don't worry about it... I bet my chart is flagged at every doctor's office I go to...

Never mess with the Doc that works on your eyes and NEVER go to a doc that has huge knuckles.

Just ask for one that speaks without an accent due to your poor hearing. That works everywhere but the ENT specialist.

Nothing wrong with that at all. Its pretty sad when you can be proud to be Indian, Mexican,Arab or whatever and its perfectly ok. But try to say proud to be white...omg then you are a racist!! lol Everybody else can celebrate their heritage but not I.

And no I am not racist at all. Its just everyone else can attach a heritage/race to their being but I can't. Hmmmm...doesnt sound fair to me.

    Completely fair...example:

When I had my wisdom teeth removed at the young age of 16, my parents took me to an Indian (dot, not feather) dentist, who didn't really even speak decent English. Surgery went OK. He told me that the stitches should dissolve in about a week and a half to two weeks. Month later, they are still there. A few weeks more...still there, and skin has grown around them. Went to a different dentist...turns out Mr. Nahasapetapedalon had used the wrong kind of thread to stitch me up. Perhaps he couldn't read the label?

I do not consider Chicago part of the United States of America. It is not a free city and it is not in a free state. Looks like you failed in your quest.

Well, I was born and raised in Chicago. Guess it had to do with my roots. We definitely shared a cultural upbringing. (Gee, I wonder if they are still counting her vote there. )
