For all you young veterans - Look forward to your kids as adults.

I received this email today. Yes I am bragging on my son:

    Dad,

I've realized that I've never said anything to you on Veterans Day. It's because I didn't really know what to say, but I guess there is only one thing to say to a veteran on Veterans Day.

Thank you. Thank you for your service. Thank you for making it out of Vietnam when many others didn't. Thank you for being stationed all over the Pacific and bringing your expanded world view back with you. Thank you for retiring in your early 40's so you could be around to help raise xxxxxxx and I.

Thank you for being a great dad.

    Love,
The younger one dropped by to say Happy Veteran's Day also.

    Happy Veteran's Day to all.

Great letter, and thank you, tiwee, for giving us young bucks a chance to make America our own and not living under foreign governments.

Thanks for your service Tiwee (sir), so that the torch could be passed on so that others could carry on the good fight for this nation. I have no children, and am about to become an uncle for the first time while deployed. I hope that in the future my children, nieces and nephews can look at me with pride as a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Looks like you did a good job raising your children, congrats.
