My buddy was on the dayshift at our Coast Guard Hovercraft base, near the airport. They went out just past the runway to help some scientist do some mud sampling. They were sitting on the mud about 300 metres from the end of the runaway when a airliner (the one with the engine in the tail) failed to takeoff and had to abort, the plane left the runaway peeled through the berm and came to rest in the mud not more 150m from them, had it gotten airborne at all it would have landed on top of the hovercraft. I came over the bridge 20 minutes later to take the nightshift and saw the tail of the plane with slides sticking out, going. Luckily no one was seriously hurt. He said they heard the engine change sound, saw the plane heading to them and they had no place to go, just that OH SH*T feeling, hoping that it will stop before hitting them!
Ever flown any South American airlines? Now that's adventure!!!

Try flying in India. Now that's an adventure! Plane stuffed over capacity, everyone just walking around the flightline. Wow!

Makes me wonder there why they have not reclaimed some land - extending out to sea maybe 1,000 feet - and so improving the length and whole approach. Costly of course.
I had seen that location before with low approaches but this selection on the vid was better - very good.
