    Barnes-bullet cufflinks

I was looking for a pair of cufflinks with a firearms related theme and couldn't find anything that I liked. I decided to make my own....

Very nice. Defiantly something unique and different.

I'm glad that you like them. They were very easy to make. I had been considering touching up the copper and polishing the rough spots, but decided to keep it simple and go with the "natural" look (how they were after being fired). I also went back and forth about how to attach them to the cufflink backs. I'm sure a jeweler would have done a better job or I could have welded them. Superglue on the other hand was fast, easy, cheep, and effective. I glued one and after letting it dry tried to pull it off without success. If it can withstand that I doubt it will fall off with normal wear. I also made a second smaller pair (9mm) that I have not photographed yet. While I prefer the 45 pair, they are a little big. I may try and cut off the rear portion of the bullet (just leaving the expanded head) if these don't work out.

You should look into a patent for those.

Nice. You will have to having a warning for school kids not to wear them to school.

    Clever!

    Mind the lead exposure....

The best way to attach them is to silver solder the backs to the bullets. Soft solder is ok too. It is fairly easy and inexpensive to learn.

Thanks for the reminder, but these are solid copper so that should not be a problem.

I like that they will be recognized by "gun people", yet not panic anyone else. Think there could be a call for a man with bullets on his cuffs?

I don't have a good place to shoot anything but steel or paper so I had Barnes do it for me.

Barnes ( Lead Free Bullets | Barnes Bullets ) makes my favorite bullet which is solid copper and I thought would work best. It is used by Corbon in their DPX rounds as well as Black Hills and others.
Here is a picture of the other pair that I made into cufflinks. I think that as much as I am amused by the huge pair, I have to admit that these are more appropriately sized.

On a side note, I have no idea what caliber the huge one is. The smaller pair appears to be a 45. I guess I need to measure them. Here is a side-by-side with a 45 ACP and 9mm round for comparison.
