The ones I like (and they are also free) are Yelp, Flixster, What's On, and NASA. Yelp for finding stores and restaurants near you; it has good reviews that are submitted by their users. Flixster for what movies are showing at theaters near you and What's On is a great TV guide. And don't forget NASA for space news, history, and video.

My friend had me download these free apps: Zillow (to see homes for sale), Stanza (for ebooks), and Pandora (for interest radio), but I really don't use these.

"App Gems" may be helpful in finding other apps.
Check out "Rescue Cleaner", not particularly useful, but helps animal shelters.
"WiFiFoFum", good for looking for wifi without going into settings.
    "AppBox Pro", Collection of utilities.
"WeatherBug", I like this for checking whether.
"Emerald Time", If you want accurate time down to 100 milliseconds.

Free app called "Appminer" will help you with sorting out apps and even watch certain apps to come on sale... Some are worth buying, some are not. Most have a limited free version so you can try before you buy...

These might not be useful to everyone, but I like them:
Cheap Gas - if it works in your area It will show you where the cheapest gas station near you is.
Road Trip Lite - let's you keep track of mileage, cost per mile, etc for one vehicle.
AP Mobile - get breaking news alerts from the AP.
NPR News by BottleRocket - let's you stream NPR shows from the last 2 weeks.
Remote - lets you control iTunes on your computer from your phone (only useful if you use iTunes at home to play music)
    Constitution - self explanatory.
Google Earth - lots of fun, the full functionality of google earth for the iPhone.

All these apps are free. The only app I paid for is the geocaching app, which is also very nice if you are into geocaching.

Just got one called Legal Heat that list the CCW laws in all 50 states and rates them.I did find some minor omissions with my home state (SC) and sent them an e-mail with corrections. They replied the same day thanking me and saying they will try to get the new info in the next update.
