    Strange all the way around

I live in southern Mississippi. Friday night it snowed. Not unheard of by unusual. Last night the temp dropped to 23 degrees, so I had to leave the 8 oudside water faucets dripping to prevent freezing. When it got up to 32 degrees this morning I went outside to shut off the faucets. Right by one of the faucets was a 3 ft rattle snake. Shouldn't he be holed up somewhere? The snake was active. When I shot it it barfed up a big frog. I don't know if it was trying to get some sunshine to help digest the frog or what. Strange.

Why did you shoot the snake???? As cold as it was, it had little chance of chasing you down.

Maybe it's just me, but as I get older I hate killing something if it was not to be used for food if it was not suffering or threating.

Oh, don't you just HATE the global warming. It is causing sooo many problems. Looking at the weather forcast this week, some ZERO temps coming my way.

    Rattle snake?

Right about now I'd be frying it up...

Now that is a sight I would pay to see, especially if it is 0 degrees or preferably below.

Why kill the snake? I just don't get it anymore... unless you have dogs roaming the backyard or toddlers too young to know any better just leave it alone. They control the rodent population. If you planned on eating it it's a whole other matter.

Same dang concept here in VA with the mountain lions and bobcats. Every one ever spotted while i was in HS in northern VA was shot and/or tranq'd and moved. Net results... MASSIVE overpopulation of deer causing countless damage to vehicles and people that die from hitting them on the road.

You kill rattlesnakes because they are poisinous(spelling?) and they can't be trusted. They are like bad guys they don't always rattle before they strike.

He was just getting a drink to wash down his frog. I used to have copperheads, assorted snakes, salamanders, toads, tiger frogs, kangaroo mice, field rats, and some chipmunks. Now I only have a big king snake and a nervous cat.
