    Kahr - Did you know?

First, I just want to say that I don't in any way mean this post to be judgemental or convey a religeous opinion. Frankly, I know nothing about their beliefs.

I just came across a Wikipedia entry that said Kahr Arms is an American small arms manufacturer founded by Kook Jin "Justin" Moon (son of Unification Church founder Sun Myung Moon), who currently serves as CEO and President. It (Kahr) is owned by the Saeilo Corporation (pronounced say-low), a subsidiary of the Unification Church International holding company.

I simply found this interesting and was wondering if any of you thought it interesting that a religeon would have an interest in a firearms company.

Odd, but not unusual or strange: e.g. from Wiki "In 2000, UPI was purchased by News World Communications, a media company owned by Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church"

"And, fter 57 years with UPI, its best-known reporter Helen Thomas resigned her position as UPI's chief White House correspondent in May 2000, the day after it was acquired by News World.[5] Since the resignation of Thomas, UPI for the first time does not have a reporter in the White House press corps."

The point is, most of the time we don't know who owns what. Common brand name items are often owned by corporations we have never heard of and by people of organizations we might not like or approve of.

That's big business. I guess if they can own a news organization they can also own a gun company.

I think that's called free-enterprise and the American way.

Kahr has to start making a revolver so we can use moon clips.

I read this in a magazine several years ago. I do know a guy who wants a Kahr firearm but won't by it for religious reasons. He does drive Toyotas and next time he rags about Kahr I am going to ask him how he justifies Shintoism. Should be pointless but oh so fun.

It probably is one of the few(perhaps only) church that manufactures firearms in the modern era.
