    Fender bender

As we came home from toy shopping with the kids today (wife driving) we had a nice little crash. We hit an SUV in front of us doing about 15 mph. I was shocked at how hard a crash is even going that slow. We are all OK and nobody was hurt.

The funny thing was that halfway through exchanging info I realized the guy was an off duty officer. The badge and gun (concealed OWB)on his belt was my first clue : ). Then I was questioning myself on informing him I was carrying. I chose not too just to keep things simpler (Ohio requires you to inform during "official" contact.). He was a nice guy and all went as well as could be.

All in all it was a minor crash but boy it can still shake you up.

Glad you and yours are OK. I hope there isn't too much damage, but the way cars are built nowadays, you can just look at them the wrong way and cause $1000 in body work.

    Good luck.

And that's only if there is NO damage.

15 mile an hour to a dead stop can have you kissing a windshield

    On a side note though
I wouldnt think this was an "official contact" as he WAS off duty.

Darn right. The forklifts where I work are limited to 8 mph, and you can sure feel it if you smack a pole.

That was the same conclusion I came to. But then again, I was a little shook up and not quite on my game just then. I'm glad someone else thinks the same as me.

Glad you and yours are ok, but as stated above, you were not in an official contact type of scenario. He was not there as an on-duty officer per say, I wouldn't think.
