    Is gas coming down?

A station that was at $2.79 all last week, was at $2.73 this morning.

That still sucks, but is this a trend or something else.

All I seem to hear on the news is about how all the analyst say it could go on for years.

I think I'm going to have wip some ponies into shape and let them start earning their keep.

Seems like it will go on until some of us are bled dry.
I can ride a motorcycle, but my wife has her own cleaning business and hauls all the equipment around in an Excursion. Just under $3 a gallon here + 11 mpg is putting her profit right into somebody else's pocket.
I always like the "get something efficient" people. Guess they don't have to haul two vacuums and a commercial carpet cleaner with them to work. Last time we checked, it wasn't possible to get all that and her supplies into a Ford Escort-size vehicle.
Might just end up horse and wagon, though a 25 mile buggy ride one way to town would take a bit of time.

Most of the gas stations in this area are about $2.99. Some are at $3.05+. I'll bet it goes up over the summer, I'm wondering if it's going to hit $4.00 over the summer.

If its gets anywhere within the ballpark of $4.00 we are going to have some serious problems.

We are slowly being conditioned to pay up to $5.00 a gallon.

I saw some softening in the DFW market and surrounding markets earlier this week. Relaxing the MTBE standards might help - sure hope so.

Last check here was IIRC $2.97 - tho 2 local places had a one day price war and it was $2.63 or so - briefly!

The impact is so widespread, that even for those using less than others - the knock-on effect is impossible to avoid

$2.63 here (Missouri) right now from $2.79 a little better I guess.

I am getting ready to have to buy an F350, Chev 3500, Dodge 1 ton (Desiel) whatever I get the deal on for my business along with a Ditch Witch RT95 and HD trailer to go with it, I am freaking out about the fuel consumption it will take to run them. It is hard to figure profit and loss when the fuel cost is unknown as to where it will stop or not stop?

It's pretty bad when the fuel cost could make or break the deal potentially.

Just to add insult to injury, my wife went to the place we usually use ($2.99) and there was NO gas..... They were totally out.

Next thing you'll now, someone'll be pulling the crap about rolling blackouts with our power and screaming for more money like they did in California. I was there then and it sucked.

If the feds and the states (and in my case, the county) would remove their taxes, gas would be around $2.00 here. Right now it's at $2.99 with the "threat" that it will be around $3.25+ by the holiday coming up.

If the damn libs would get off this "don't drill in AK, the coasts, etc" kick, build some more damn refinaries(sp) (last one built was 30 years ago), remove the 20000000000000000+ types of gas that needs to be made and shipped to different states (due to enviromental laws), and start building more nuclear power plants, we wouldn't be having this problem to began with.
