    Get some!

A buddy of mine with a ranch in California would be all for it if I could come up with a helo....

I can't watch the video due to my companies firewall, however there is a little Texas town north of Abilene where some ranchers are hunting hogs with the Helicopter. I have seen these guys fly over and it looks pretty wild from that view! Couldn't imagine the other view as they couldn't have been 50 feet off the ground.

Not as sporting as hunting them on the ground face to face with a pistol. That's how I've done it over in East Tennessee.

My Uncle hired those guys a couple of years ago when his property was overrun by the feral hogs when he was replacing part of his fence line. The fence guys told my Uncle that they watched scores of the animals cross over as they were tearing down the old fence to replace it.

At first, he tried inviting us all down to go after the animals in jeeps, 4-wheelers, etc, but they were too elusive and would just head into the brush where we could not get to them. In less than 3 months, they had caused serious damage to the fence, so he called in those guys. In two days they had killed over 150 hogs........

    Simply amazing.

I was hunting hog the other day. Had a bunch of fun with it. I waited in my stand for a while and never saw anything. Got dark, and finally decided to pack it up and leave. As I was walking back to my truck, I heard a snort about 20 yards to my right. It's getting close to pitch black, and I can't see a thing. I shine my surefire and see a decent sized hog standing there. I had an ACOG mounted on an AR...lined up my illuminated chevron on the silhouette of his neck and shot. Heard a squeal and saw him run. Tracked him down with the dogs the next day.

I can't imagine how fun it would be to shoot them from a helicopter. Not allowed to do that even for hog in TX.

Seems like a very effective, though expensive, way to decrease the hog problems. I hope they gather the dead hogs and donate them to anyone who needs the meat.

Considering how much of a problem wild pigs are becoming, I am surprised that there are any restrictions at all. At least that is my take on the problem, after watching a tv show about it.
Don't have them here in Montana, but I am sure the wolves, mountain lions and bears would love them to come up here!!! So would my 35 Whelen....

Actually they changed the law in Texas last year and it much easier to get a permit to hunt feral hogs out of helo's now.
