So, what are "we" doing for New Years Eve?

Mrs. Goldshellback (aka, S.W.M.B.O.) informed me that we're going to a small, local restaurant and bar with another couple and our son and daughter-in-law. Small place with good food and pretty popular with the local constables as well.
My first question was "am I driving"? Nope, she'll drive. That means I can consume some 'New Years Cheer' with my son, DIL, and my buddy and his wife. (Always a good time!) Also means I won't be carrying. I'll be leaving the sidearm at home locked up and hanging out with friends and family.....leaving before midnight and ringing in the new year at the house.

Those are my plans. What are the 'rest of us' planning for the New Year's Eve?

Whatever 'we' do, let's be safe, responsible, have a plan, and here's hopeing we all have a GREAT 2010!

We're going to the casino, win a jackpot, and go buy more guns and ammo.

And if it's a really BIG jackpot, I'm gonna quit my job, and buy a farm out in the country.

Me and the wife will be in Evansville, IN for New Year's Eve. My step-son lives over in Henderson, KY and he and his G/F will be celebrating with us at the hotel.

Then, 1/1/2010 we will have to go to Springfield, IL to visit with her side of the family. Can't carry in Illinois, so we will have all the firearms locked up in the trunk of the Honda.

Three generations (siblings, etc.) of us going out for Mexican food, then back to my Mom & Dad's house for s'mores and shoot off a ton of fireworks that Dad and I picked up this week.

Getting drunk, & shooting my AK into the air randomly....

    Just kidding, couldn't resist that.

I don't know what I'm doing now. I was supposed to go to DC with some friends, but I'm down here in Florida right now working. I'll be home tomorrow, but they left out this morning(to be fair, I thought I'd be back home today, but had to take Monday off to take my daughter back home to Indiana, which put me a day behind.) 

Going to a lady friend's house for a party and then spend the night there. Just too many drunk idiots out there to be driving that night. (Of course, all her other guests will be at risk, but that is their choice. She has extra floor space)

Staying home, fixing a steak dinner, relaxing in the evening, might even have a drink or two. I've gotten too old for going to parties, in a hall, bar or someones house and dealing with drunken idiots, there and on the way home.
Carrying a firearm has made me a quieter, gentler, more responsible person. I like it.

Dropping the little one off at our neighbor/babysitter's house for the night, and me and the GF are going to a big house party for drinking, eating, games, and fireworks. Most likely will be crashing there unless we call a cab home.

Sitting at home with the family, cell phone firmly in pocket. I never drink, so on New Years, I let all my local friends know to call me NO MATTER WHAT if they need a DD. Doesn't matter what time or where. I'd rather deal with them being drunken idiots than dead ones.

You mean there is more that one S.W.M.B.O. out there?

FWIIW, I'll have to check with my S.W.M.B.O.

She's having knee problems and announced that we'll not be attending the usual dance. So, I gave away our tickets. Still waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Good thing you gave up on shooting your AK into the air randomly ... in DC.
