    Parking Lot Panhandlers,One Solution

My wife and I have started something that is working for us.If you are shopping you are on privately owned property. If the owners and/or employees want my money they can stop people from asking me for money on their property. If they do not want to get involved, I will go up the food chain until someone does. Years ago, I was a retail manager for eight years,I never hesitated to keep the bums and beggars away. If need be I called the police. Half the time people like this have outstanding warrants, which gets them a ride . We were approached last week inside Lowe's by a moonie,Unification Church zombie, asking for money. We said no. I found four Lowe's employee's standing around, informed them of this. These young men were confused as to what a moonie is.I replied that he is asking customers for money, that got them moving. They followed me and I pointed the guy out. They told him to leave or else! Two managers found us later and thanked us for the heads up. Two days later we were approached by a sweet young thing in a grocery store lot.We said no and immediately found managers. Four store employees went in search of this woman and told her to leave. She got in a late model 4X4 driven by a man. A 45K truck and they are asking for money! This approach may not always work, but in many cases it will. And no, I am not worried about somebody waiting for me outside because I snitched. I do not live my life in fear and I am really sick of these people bothering me when all I want to do is shop. Might be worth a try for some of you.

Tell them, "Sure, if you give me all of your clothes." They will say, "you're crazy if you think I'm giving you my clothes." and you say, "and you must be crazy if you think I'm giving you my money." They will turn and walk away.

When i see them walking up to my car i usually tell them "dont even think about it man" and they usually just walk away. One of my friends tells people who ask for change that "i dont have any change, all i have are dollars" and walks away. That usually pisses them off pretty good.

When I got out of the military and was putting myself through college, I had a part-time job as a security job for awhile. The majority of that job was getting rid of pan handlers from shopping centers. That job really sucked. I remember one time telling a pan handler in front of a Safeway store he had to leave. An elderly, white-haired lady was coming out, turned to me, and said "You should be ashamed of yourself! He is just trying to get money for food!" She then pulled out some change, gave it to him, and walked off. He gave me the "hey, hey, f you" look as I escorted him off the property.

But yeah, property owners can hire security to run pan handlers off their property.

When I see them coming, I hit them up for a few bucks first. Really confuses them and they always walk away.

I worked at a gas station back in highschool, on a big intersection, and there was a guy out there 4 or 5 days a week with grubby clothes and he would drive up in like a 3 year old Mercedes no joke. I watched a tv show a few years back and some of the guys on it made $60-80,000 a year tax free.

When the panhandlers approach when I'm stopped for a traffic light, I make sure I'm cleaning my fingernails with a large-bladed folding knife.

When I see a guy asking for money for "The Homeless Voice", I hold a cup out of my window and ask if he can spare some change because I am having trouble making my mortgage payment and I don't want to be homeless also.

Years ago I used to drive to work and pass this one particular "homeless" guy on one corner. Every day for months & years I saw this same guy begging for money. It seems that for a "homeless" person he was making a good living on this one busy corner.

As "noonan" mentioned earlier, on an average day at the right busy location a "begger" can make $2-300.00 per day tax free. Not a bad living for being "homeless." They can make a VERY healthy living just begging for money.

I am not a friendly guy out in the parking lots. When I have been approached, I have usually used a loud, unfriendly voice to announce my displeasure at being 'interviewed' (I don't exactly say that...)...so far panhandlers either stay away, and/or walk away mumbling something about me being crazy.

I like to ask them what their PIN is. "Huh?" "Obviously, I look like an ATM to you... so, what's your PIN?"

Or, as mentioned before, I like to hit them up for money first.

I've also offered to buy a kidney. "Don't you need to see if it's compatible?" "No. I just want a kidney."

I'll usually hit them up for money first.

One time, it backfired. I was approached and I hit him up for a "few bucks". To my surprise, he handed me a 5 and told me to go get something to eat. I didn't
know what to do at that point.
