It is the GRAND DADDY OF ALL CAR CHASES IN MOVIES!
    BULLITT
Ever since viewing this movie, I have had a great respect for old movies and am starting to love old movies more and more and dislike new movies more and more.

    That is a great movie.
I was reading an article where someone located the last remaining movie car and is restoring it. The one used in the car chases was destroyed after the movie. (insurance and liability crap even back then)

If you like those sorts of movies, you might like the Blues Brothers movie. I have a soft spot for that one because I own a 1974 Plymouth that looks like the Monaco they drive in the movie.

There are quite a few of those old shows. I can think of only a few titles off the top of my head though.

Vanishing point is another good one.

If you go to san fran they have a tour of the actual route used for the chase scene. Only problem is I have no intentions of going to san fran.

Two identical cars were used for filming, one of which was completely demolished during the making of the movie. The surviving car was sold to a private buyer after filming.

Steve tried to repurchase it in 1974, but the owner wouldn't part with it.

Yep, Bill Hickman did the driving in "The Seven Ups" also in the "The French Connection" and drove the Charger in "Bullitt".

Bud, pick up a new copy of Bullitt, it has a short documentary on it called 'Bullitt': Steve McQueen's Commitment to Reality
In the scene where Bill Hickman hit the parked car, that wasn't edited, he also took out the camera.

Great clip, thanks for posting it! I've always loved the chase scene in The Rock.

    "The French Connection"
"The Californian Kid" with very young Martin Shenn
"Gone in 60 seconds" the 1960s version, a lot better than the new version with Nicolas Cage , this movie has over 100 cars wrecked in it
    "The Junkman"
    "Jade"
    "Ronin"
"Dirty Harry 2 i believe where hes in San Fran somewhere going down a windy hill and drives a moto in the end"
    etc

There is also another movie im thinking off where there like in the desert or something, and it has a very cool car, with an African AMerican radio DJ annoucning the car chase during the course of the movie, anyone remember the title to this movie?

    You're welcome Bud.

Another cool scene from the documentary is Hickman and McQueen driving the Charger and Mustang at full-tilt boogie and getting close enough to each other to slap the other guys car.
