    Army Boot Camp Changes

This is such a great idea. Now we'll definitely never have instances of non combat arms companies throwing down their uncleaned weapons and running away again.

I'm so glad I was in the Marine Corps and got good training. I might have hated it when I got it, but when rounds started coming my way, I knew what to do.

(Might be a couple words on the You-Tube page that are un-work friendly, nothing you won't hear on T.V. or anything, just a warning though.)

EDIT: In hindsight, I might have put this in the wrong forum part. Sorry about that if I did.

There's your "Army of One" - hooah.

I don't wish to take ANYTHING away from our soldiers, but it's the ARMY machine that I have a problem with.

Used to wash out 15% now wash out only 11%...sounds like there's now 4% in that Army that shouldn't be there.

That's pathetic! Past that I'm speechless and slightly ashamed.

We need the draft and real DI's back. And instead of sending the little babies home to mama recycle their butts till they can get it right!

As much as I hated Basic in 2001, I'm glad I went through then and not now. We had to learn to deal with little to no sleep, not enough food, sore muscles and a lot of senseless screaming. You know what; after that, pretty much everything else seems easy. History is starting to repeat itself; the Army let up on training standards between WWII and Korea, then proceeded to get it's ass kicked almost the whoe way off of the Korean peninsula at the outset of the war. This is not a good sign at all.

    OMG. I'm speachless.

11B trained at Ft. Benning at Harmony Church. My drills yelled, screamed, cursed, and kicked our arses. 15% washout was "at least" and we had 3 deaths in the Battalion. 2 due to heat stroke and 1 due to a grenade accident. My drill once punched me in the stomache so hard I puked on him. He didn't like that.
    I still remember his face.

But he did his job. Turned a POS slacker into a soldier. What he taught me, saved my life, changed my life... didn't shape me into a man... he forged me. Me and the rest of my platoon.

Still remember the assistant drills too.

This looks more like AirForce drill!

Truthfully - I don't think that has anything to do with it. Females and gays are technically allowed in the Marine Corps too - but you don't see this happening with our Boot Camp...

That's because the Marine Corps trains males and females seperately so they can use techniques that they each respond better to. Amazingly enough, we haven't had any incidents of transportation companies not cleaning their weapons and running away after being attacked.

Basic training nowadays is a 9 week "ordeal?"

Yeah this the way to prepare men for war!
    ghez
boot camp should be like the movie Full Metal Jacket to prepare men for the worst kinds of war, minus the part where the Drill Sgt. (Mail Call guy in history channel, cant think of his name) beats the soldiers.
