Well, over the last few days I've had interviews for companies in Washington State AND Nashville.
Good thing too. I just found out the project I'm currently on will probably not need me past next week.
I'd enjoy either one. The WA job could be a dream long term position, but the move would be really tough. I've had 2 out of 3 interviews now.
The Nashville job is also a decent long term position, and would still require a move, but only of 3 hours. I've had one of 2 interviews so far.
Bottom line: Either one would be great!
Fingers crossed my friends! Pray for a quick "YES!" from one of them!

I hope they BOTH make ya offers! A good ol fashion bidding war would be great!
Best of luck and it sounds like either place would be easy to adjust to.

Dude! don't move to Wa if you have a choice, take the job in Tn if you can. I relocated hear from Ft Campbell area 6 years ago and hate every minute, not just the weather, hippies and the whole left coast attitude but the economy sucks, my house in Ky (1850 sq ft) was $65K on a 3/4 acre lot, hear in western WA you cant touch a rundown house in a bad neighborhood for under $150k and all the houses are 15 ft apart from each other, and don't even start me on commuting to/from work.
Brother if you love your family and your sanity DON'T MOVE TO WASHINGTON STATE, take the other job if you have a choice,
just my opinion, and good luck with the job

Thanks for caring my friend, but if I do truly have a choice, the WA job is by far the better long term option. I've done some research the past few weeks, and so long as I live "to the right" of Seattle (job is in Redmond) I'll be fine. Beautiful place to ride motorcycle, and play outside. They'd pay me enough to cover the cost of living adjustment from where I am now.

I've been a "left coast" boy almost all my life and love it here.
I guess you know Washington is "shall issue".
Good luck to you!

GB, I was near Mt. Rainer once on a project, and it was so beautiful I almost pitched a tent and stayed then!
Either would be a good opportunity though. Both are industrial jobs, rather than construction projects, which is what I prefer. Even in good times, chasing projects is a pain.

jca1,
I hope you're right.
Today's conference with the senior VP went really well. One of those moments where you're just in the groove.
It seems to be a mutual conclusion too. They just asked me if I would also talk to their Oregon division on Friday as well. I take that as a good sign.
