Gun store website - PayPal alternatives?

    All,

I have been approached to build an e-commerce site for a gun shop. They mentioned PayPal, though I'm sure they're using the term in its generic sense.

As PayPal does not allow weapons purchases, can anyone recommend another outfit which provides roughly the same service?

    Thanks!

I read on here somewhere about "gunpal". Google it or do a search.

in my opinion, if the store is to be cosidered legit, you're client is going to have to retain the services of a true credit card processing company and process Visa,MC,AMEX,Discover directly. Make sure the merchant services company is ok with firearms and ammo sales. Some are not.

Thanks, folks. The plan is for the store to ultimately go 'pro', but they're playing with ideas for startup. I agree with the perceived value of one's own processing, but may go with GunPal for starters if they prefer.

Actually, I just set up a commercial account with GunPal. It operates just like PayPal, except they accept payments for anything that is legal to sell in the USA. For a buyer, it is seamless... no account required. Buyer purchases the item, gets sent to GunPal, and puts in his credit card info.... done. The money is placed in the seller's account.

GunPal also donates a portion of their profit on each sale to one of a few different organizations, like the NRA... seller's choice.

So far, I recommend them highly.

Not sure why any proprietor would use papal at all, given their anti-gun stance. by using them for non-gun items is supporting their views.
