San Antonio Zoo
Headed to San Antonio this weekend and was probably going to take the family to the zoo and the Alamo. I looked on their website but found nothing about CC policy at the zoo. I know the Alamo is out, is there anywhere else I need to be made aware of?
The Alamo is prohibited...? I woulda thunk in Texas (and at THE ALAMO), it would be mandatory...
How are they going to not allow guns at the Alamo? Didn't we already have some kind of problem there with not having enough guns? What good is going to do to remember, if we don't learn?
Off the website.....
"3. WEAPONS: The unlicensed carry of firearms or possession of other instruments, devices, or substances designed or intended to cause injury, death, or property damage is prohibited. Weapons used for educational purposes, displays, ceremonies, or historical reenactments are permitted on the complex, but are subject to inspection and restrictions specified in the Alamo Policy on Alcohol, Drugs, and Weapons"
Seems as though CCW is OK?
Reading that I would imagine that since you don't fall under the "unlicensed carry" your good to go. I don't know TX law but reading that, it doesn't apply to you. (Assuming you have a permit)
I thought that the Alamo was a national park or something. I will have to check on that though. Still about the zoo, does anyone know?
Edit to add:
Well guess I should have looked into the Alamo a bit further. They are ran by Daughters of the Republic of Texas and not uncle sam. It surely appears that licensed carry is permitted by what I just read. So long as the zoo is not off limits, it sounds like I will be carrying the whole time.:hand10:
