Well, they don't call them "Killer Whales" for nothing.

I'm surprised the Brady Campaign Against Whale Violence hasn't cried about this.

Sorry, mis-read title. I thought this post was going to be about over weight groupies.

For once I actually agree with PETA.
Before you ban me from this website, PETA said that we shouldn't be keeping these animals in a tank that is essentially bathtub sized for them to live in. It's only a matter of time before one of them losses it. I know I would.

Yes, the mere thought of PETA gives me hives and raises my blood pressure. I'm and avid gun owner and a CCW permit owner in the 2nd bluest state there is and yes, I hunt and love venison.

But I think Killer Whales should not be at Sea World.

Apparently this is the 3d time this particular whale has been involved in a death. Yet Seaworld is not going to destroy the whale.

Why? I don't know exactly but I suspect it's because the of value of the whale. Very few companies will want to destroy property worth millions just because someone died.

Shamu (or whatever the whale's name really is) is too expensive to fail.

You'd think that if something is called a "killer" whale you would expect this sort of thing.
    Mark Twain:
The government is merely a servant -- merely a temporary servant; it cannot be its prerogative to determine what is right and what is wrong, and decide who is a
patriot and who isn't. Its function is to obey orders, not originate them.

    All is not lost.

Back around the late 70's I spent some time in up on the northern coast of Alaska looking for oil. Came across several tribes that actually hunted the whales. Since we were using some of the younger men for guides, we got to be pretty friendly with them. We ate things that I've never heard of or seen since.

We actually had KillerWhale and something called Narwhale that wasn't really a whale but more like a Walrus. It was actually pretty good eating.

I think that Shamu the Killer whale or whatever its name is, could be turned into a pretty good profit if they would part it out and sell it as a delicacy. They have several restaurants at Sea World, it might be a big enough hit that they could offer it all the time.
