Those are all listed as IIIb class lasers, you can do some serious damage with them. Most places won't let you use them without some paperwork and training.

Way over what Joe Blow can get off the shelf.

5mW is our normal limit which is pretty safe. That stuff is what lab's use etc - pretty sure some serious paperwork needed to get.

SOOOOO what if you were to use one in a case of self defence, say you were being attacked by a group of thugs. Push the button and just sweep the crowd, better than full auto, and a whole lot quieter too.

    Ooh, I want one!

Paperwork and training... ha! Ain't nothing those lasers can do that I couldn't do with a simple match. Hoplophobes.

Not that I saw this in person or had anything to do with it, you understand, BUT...

The laser rangefinders on tanks can be used to blind an opponant when the eyesafe filters are removed. In fact, they are considered a direct-fire weapons system when the filters are out.

They can easily be used to blind an opponant when ROE or circumstances prevent the use of other weapons. Hard to prove what happened, too.

Good point, tanksoldier, but any object can be misused. Guns and lasers are no exception. We've all been told by our moms that we're "gonna put an eye out with that" - if we're not careful and responsible. They were (and are still) right. Licenses and paperwork do not prevent accidents. Common sense does.
