Tweaked that link Sheldon - it had gotten a syntax error

Yes - all good wholesome facts that I do not doubt for a moment - makes one feel so, so welcoming to illegal folks don't it

Always so good to know where our tax dollars get spent - frivolously.

I thought that was just in the talks (like that wasn't bad enough). Has that bill been passed?

It has passed the Senate Thursday night. It now goes to a Senate/House committee. 23 Republican Senators voted in favor of the bill. Below is a list of all Senators by how they voted. I am surprised that both Senators from NM and one from AZ voted for this measure. The two idiots from CA did not surprise me.

Aw, man! That sucks big time. I'm still trying to understand the U.S. legislation process... is there still a chance to stop this?

    Yep.

Never gonna get the money back, so cut one's losses now.

Stretch a long, tall and wide fence along the Southern border (or do what is done between North and South Korea) and a catapault to send the illegal aliens over the fence and back to Mexico.

Unless someone has photos of the House committee members accepting bribes, the bill is dead in committee, as the House bill is 180 degrees away from the Senate version.

You know, I think the environmentalists may be right. We should return the area around the border to its natural state. That would include re-introducing Black Bears, Red Wolves, Jaguars, and Pumas. Then we'll need a fence to keep the evil hunters away from the nice animals.

QK, you have the gift of understatement. It will be massacred in the House. These guys all have to run in November and they know that if they want to be reelected they had best pass something that the voting, tax paying American citizen wants.

Whew... you had me worried for a minute there, Simm. Glad to see that the system apparently works... sometimes. Let's hope for the best.

A fence would indeed be nice. Glad to know that's in the talks, too. As a German, I can assure you: A fence does work.

I never really knew how bad the Illegal immigration was till I moved to cali. It was bad when I lived in Ohio and was getting worse. It is pretty bad in D.C., not that bad in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and nothing compares to L.A.

Well, Bill Frist voted FOR the bill, no big surprise there since he's already said he's not running for re-election but at least Alexander voted Nay.

Let's all hope the bill dies a loud, violent death in the House - something that Dubbya can't ignore.
