OK, I like this movie. But it has some "stupid" stuff in it gunwise.
Anyone catch when the gun salesman "Andy" made a comment about the semi-auto he was selling to Travis, saying "It holds 6 in the magazine, 7 if you put a round in the chamber. That is if you are stupid enough to put a round in the chamber".
Is that a comment about this particular gun, or do you think he just doesn't think one should carry that way?
(Oh, and Travis kept a round in the chamber anyhow; at least when he got shot by the guy in the leisure suit, he popped out that little semi-auto from his right sleeve and let the guy have it. And although Hollywood loves to have people rack the slide, he didn't).
Anti-gunners seem to believe that if we just pass enough laws, we can have utopia. Unfortunately, utopia is NOT one of our choices.
I don't remember the scene exactly, but it might be a cheap gun w/ an exposed hammer that if you bump it would go off.
On another note, I'm trying to get a friend of mine who moonlights as a taxi driver to start carrying. I'm going to take him to the range soon.
Love Taxi Driver...
