Prayers UP and I'll send him a card. Any idea how long he'll be in the hospital? Was the negative diagnosis made as a result of the ER visit, or has he known of his condition previously?

Jim - as I understand it the diagnosis is very recent - it was the pericardial problem which got him into ICU.

As to time frame - no idea right now. Will hope to speak with him again soon.

    Update!

Just gotten off phone with Bob - he was pleased to have a chat and Jimmy his best buddy was there too visiting.

OK - RSSZ I relayed your message and Bob said thx, and asked - Do you know Mac's Bar CCT (here is where I can't read my scribble) - is it ''Hanfort'', Harfort'' - geez I must write better! He wonders then if you know Mike McReynolds - again I am trying to read my scribble!!

If you do Bob asks if you'd be so good as to pass on his current situation - let folks know. If this no good just let me know.

Other progress - well, Bob is having a CAT scan tomorrow to better inspect lower left lung, and Monday starts some radiation treatment to deal with twelve small cerebral lesions - largest is 1cm, others small apparently.

I told him about how many folks have posted asking after him and he was very grateful and delighted. This means a lot to him.

I'll get further update I hope early into next week.

I spoke with Bob today as well. He seems to be in good spirits and I am convinced now that he has the will to fight and win his battle with cancer. Bob, is a fighter and a survivor.

Bob passed something on to me during our conversation, and I'm going to pass it on to you. If you smoke and you want to stop, buy the book "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking", by Allen Carr. Bob used it to stop smoking and said that it worked extremely well. Since I am a smoker and have made the decision that I need to stop now, I'm going to order it today.

As Chris said, Bob wanted you all to know that he appreciates all of your prayers, best wishes, cards, etc. He is very thankful. If you haven't already, writing or sending him a card would be appreciated by Bob and all of his friends here at the forum, including myself....

Best wishes and prayers for his health to improve. May 12 was the one year mark of losing my big brother to much the same thing, he was 42. I'll do my best to get a card in the mail as soon as I'm able.

I do not know for sure but have the feeling Bob has no immediate family, there or elsewhere. I must check it out further.

AFAIK for now, Jimmy his best buddy and a lady friend are about all he has.

He has a family here who have benefited from his wisdom and thoughtfulness. Godspeed your recovery, Bob. Please keep us updated, Chris.

A former boss of mine, was diagnosed with the same thing and he beat it. Let's hope Bob has the same outcome, it's going to be an uphill battle, but all of us at CC show support, it will only help. I also haven't been a member of this site very long, but have read quite a few of his posts and learned quite a bit. I will be sending a card, thank you moderators for keeping us all up to date, if something happened to me I would want you all behind me. Keep up the good work.
