    Still fighting!

I'm in contact with Bob at least once a night. He has 8 radiation treatments (including 1 today) complete, with 7 to go.

He'll get a short break, then begin chemotherapy (about 1 every 3 weeks).

He constantly expressing his heartfelt gratitude for the well wishes and prayers from his brothers and sisters at Combat Carry and others he has come into contact with over the years and is still looking forward to returning to the fold as an active contributor.

Thanks for the support! It keeps him going and his positive mental attitude is making a difference in his recovery!

    Later,

    RoboCop

I have spoken to Bob a couple of times over the last few days, as well and as Robo said above he is very appreciative of the overwhelming support that he has received here at the forum. He's not out of the woods yet, but he is still determined to fight his cancer. And, with the attitude he has, I'm thinking he's going to continue fighting it until it decides he is simply a bad host....

Hey gang its been awhile. Its good to be back! I talked with Bob today, and he's hanging tough like we all would expect from an old soldier. We should have his blaster back in the next couple of days. Rock River owner Chuck Larson is doing all he can to make sure its right and I know this will lift his spirits. Of course he's having the usual crap with the insurance companies not wanting to cover his needed medication, and its wearing him down. But you know Bob he'll fight 'em till hell freezes over or he's running the place as a winter resort. He's going to be home so everybody write as much as you can to keep him thinking.

I talked to Bob this morning and his day was alittle brighter. It seems that he got a package from Rock River Arms with his long awaited blaster in it. I'm sure he'll get on line later after the radiation and give everybody all the details. It nice to hear joy in his voice.

Bob called me this evening - in fact I meant to post straight away.

He asked me to update y'all so you are in the picture. He has had so far 9 radiation/X-ray zaps for the cerebral lesions and admits he is feeling the effects quite a lot - several more to go over next week or so.

This is making him suffer various odd things including, marked fatigue, some unsteadiness on his feet, some tremor and a bit of difficulty concentrating too. Even after this treatment phase is over he is told to expect 10-14 days for these symptoms to ease - then he has to start the long haul of chemo'.

Bottom line - he knows well he just can't handle being on line too well tho he tries to drop in and read - that's about all he can do without strain.

Therefore, he wants y'all to know he will be still not posting much at all for a while as a result but is also wishing it to be known that he appreciates all the well wishes - more than he can say. Believe me guys, he has been totally awestruck with all the attention - and cannot express his thanks adequately.

The RRA repaired 1911 is at last home with him as TAPs mentioned above and this is a great bonus tho - as he said with all he has to deal with and all the time it took, it seemed a shade anti-climactic!

He hopes later to take some digi pics of that - seems Chuck has made some nice additions too. I will post those pics for him if he needs it.

So - there you are for now - wishes and prayers still very much needed and appreciated. Our Bob is a fighter of some note but - we can help too.
