Rating system
I'm still fairly new to this forum and I was taking notice of the rating system for the threads. Is this anything like the pitiful rating system the Packing.org has?
I am not very computer savy and my search did not come up with any info. Perhaps someone could explain this rating system to me.
Thanks.

What rating system ? We don't need no stinkin' rating system.
I think thats the main problem with packing.org in the first place...

I moved this to forum feedback as that is the proper place for it
as for the rating system it really does nothing except to show what some people think is a good thread or is not

It's there, has anyone ever used it? I can't recall seeing a thread rated.

I noticed one or two threads got a rating in the past but for most part I don't think it's a feature we particularly use or need.

Thanks guys. I wasn't a fan of the rating system at PDO either. I actually voted on a thread here just to see what would happen. I won't be doing it again. I too have not been on PDO for a long time and am very glad that I was referred to this forum.

The CombatCarry Thread Rating System
The Rate Thread feature has no bearing on any members status and no effect on the thread or the deletion of the thread...or anything else.
It's just a "Did You Like It?" or "Did You Love It?" sort of thing.
Often if I think a thread is a real "Must Read" then I'll click Excellent & give it the Max # of stars. Usually I forget & don't bother rating any threads.
It's just a recommendation thing & nothing else.
Some folks like the thread or love the thread & then threads usually get an Excellent or good star rating.
Our members are so great that usually if they don't like a thread topic....or the way it's presented...they just move on and don't bother to rate it.
I don't even remember a thread being rated poor.

Betty and some of our female members might take exception to that!

Why should Betty take exception? She is an example of a 5 Star rating herself. Actually 5 Star+ since she carries concealed and is a shooter as well.

Actually, yeah, the "rating system" is very rarely ever used here although it was used a little in some of the very old threads. I think we had one user that religiously rated threads in the past. Actually I may research how to turn it off since it is really not used by our members....

The Female members might only think this picture is worth a 2.5, and prefer to see some "beefcake". It's all in the perception!!
