I agree it's annoying... I find myself just giving up and leaving most of the time, and that's too bad because there are a lot of good posts here.

Here's the explanation on why everyone is getting the message:

Just got too big for the capabilities. Need a new server, which costs $$$$$.

Sorry about this - there is info in the forum news section where Bumper has posted on various aspects.

We are trying raise donations to go to a dedicated server as ours has gone downhill recently, and badly.

I'm not sure who your hosting provider is but if you can get out of it another good hosting vendor is called Dreamhost. Another board I'm on uses it with very good service and one of my clients has their web site hosted with them with no issues and good support.

I checked them out today, their dedicated hosting plan (they have only one) is $395 a month, which is pretty high. They focus on shared hosting, which we're on now and working to get us off of as quickly as possible. I have pretty much narrowed it down to one of two hosts. I'll post more on that, hopefully, in a few days after the negotiations are over....

Help solve the problem and throw a donation into the pot. Sooner we get to the goal the sooner you won't see the dreaded "server too busy....." message

I Emailed the Administrator, Bumper I presume. I refuse to use paypal after some horror stories from people close to me. One is a Fraud Detective at my local city PD.

I would be happy to mail a check somewhere, but I refuse to use paypal.

Slight hijack: What sort of fraud in this case? Pretty much all of the fraud stories I have heard about PP have had to do with phishing or deadbeats on the other end of a transaction. I have been using PP since about '98 with never a hint of a problem other than a few phishing attempts. Of course, phishing is not PP's fault.

I've used PayPal since its inception with never a problem. Just follow the same security procedures you would when doing any online transactions. There are a lot of safeguards built in.

But even if you don't use PayPal, your contribution is a good thing.

I'm with Biker. Too many PP horror stories. I would be glad to mail a check, post an address or PM an addy to me.
