    Problem with posts/subscriptions disappearing

This morning I have noticed at least 2 threads where my posts have disappeared, also I have my preference set to subscribe to all posted threads, but some of the threads do not email me with subscribed updates.

We lost some posts during the server move. Bumper is working to get everything worked out, but count yer blessings for everything that did make the transfer.

    Yep, that's it.

Seriously though. When the previous host locked everything down Bumper was unable, and so far has been unable to get about 72 hours worth of data from them. So it looks like about 3 days was lost totally. That includes registrations, forum contribution tags and of course posts. Contribution tags are the only thing with an outside record, so those can eventually be applied where necessary. However the posts and registrations were all on the database only.

Bumper is trying to get back those 72 hours of data and is of course, using all methods at his disposal including legal. So have no fear if it can be done, it will be.

Ah. I had been working my way through the higher Century series of Cessnas, post-count wise, when I noticed a loss of altitude so to speak. Good to know it wasn't just me!

All of the contribution tags were re-applied last night before I went to bed. Everyone that has donated through last night has now been straightened out. The lost posts are, unfortunately gone forever, and doubt we will be getting them back. Honestly, I am focusing more on extracting some satisfaction out of the old host, over the whole incident. I doubt I will get much, but I will make it stink around Hopkinsville, in Kentucky for awhile....

Give us an email address to these people. we will overload their circuits with our opinions of their service and system.

Well, heck, if y'all have read many of my previous posts, it'd be a public service to lose some...if not most.

LOL, well, although there might be some I wouldn't mind losing, yours is not amongst them.

I've noticed a few of mine, but it's a small price to pay for the speedier server, and not to have to keep hitting the refresh button just to log in. So, I'll just wait until they eventually resurface, and not worry about it if they don't.

Glad you're not upset about losing your posts Squawker. I'm a newcomer and probably wouldn't have stuck around with the old server.

I probably wouldn't have either if I would have had to live with it the way it was....

I'm just happy that the site is off the old host and doing so much better. It's like a whole new site really.

I don't know if any of my posts were lost in the move but as others have said, I consider it a small price to pay for such increased speed and utility.
